(FOX40.COM) — A Memorial Day event planned to be held at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on Monday was canceled due to Pro-Palestinian protests in the area, event organizers told FOX40.com.

The City of Sacramento was scheduled to hold a Memorial Day Community Event at the auditorium from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday.

The event description reads that was to be a flag ceremony and speeches in Memorial Plaza before a concert featuring “patriotic music” played on the Estey Municipal Organ.

At 1:22 p.m. on Monday, police shared that all roadways were cleared and reopened.
