    Evacuation orders lifted after Railbridge Fire burns about 130 acres in Butte County

    (FOX40.COM) — An evacuation order was issued in Butte County on Thursday afternoon for a fire that threatened several structures in Palermo.

    Around 9 p.m., all evacuation orders and warnings were lifted . For previous coverage of the fire, see below.

    Previous Updates for Railbridge Fire

    The Butte County Sheriff’s Office said around 5:15 p.m. that residents in Zone 886, 887, and 890 were asked to leave the area immediately.

    Around 6:30 p.m., evacuation orders were downgraded to warnings in Zones 884, 886, 887, and 890.

    Cal Fire said the primary affected areas are the Railbridge, Crestmont, and Apache Hill areas, and that the fire was around 60-70 acres large.

    In an update just before 5:30 p.m., Cal Fire said the fire had grown to 129 acres.

    At 6:14 p.m., Cal Fire said the Railbridge Fire was 15% contained and sitting at around 130 acres.

    Cal Fire said the Railbridge Fire is burning near “the footprint” of the Apache Fire, which burned nearly 700 acres in Butte County at the end of June.

    The cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries have been reported as of 6:47 p.m.
