(FOX40.COM) — Save Mart is planning to close its Roseville distribution center, impacting nearly 300 jobs in Placer County.

A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed by the company on Aug. 6 said the permanent closure will go in effect on Oct. 12. The closure of the distribution center, located on 9999 Niblick Drive, would result in the loss of 273 people jobs.

In a statement to FOX40.com, a Save Mart spokesperson said the closure comes after “an extensive review” of the company’s infrastructure and processes.

“The grocery industry changes rapidly and requires continuous improvement and innovation to remain competitive,” Save Mart in its statement. “We are confident this change will help us compete, grow our business, and meet the needs of our customers and communities most effectively. We are committed to supporting everyone impacted through this transition.

Save Mart is headquartered in Modesto and operates hundreds of stores throughout the Central Valley, Northern California and Western Nevada.
