New tequila-centric cocktail lounge opens in Northern California casino

(FOX40.COM) — A little over one year after announcing the addition of a bourbon and cigar lounge , a casino in Northern California is now adding a cocktail lounge that seeks to cater to tequila enthusiasts.

Sky River Casino in Elk Grove said on Wednesday that Tequila Barrel , which will be occupying the space formerly known as Upper Barrel, has officially opened and will serve 89 varieties of tequila and mezcal.

“The new cocktail lounge is focused specifically on offering a wide variety of tequila, from tried-and-true classics to enticing new favorites,” Sky River Casino said. “Tequila Barrel is a true destination for discerning tequila connoisseurs and for those interested in tasting a variety of tequilas to learn more and find their favorites.”

Some premium brands available at the new lounge include Fortaleza, Tequila Ocho, Mijenta, El Tequileno, Corazon Buffalo Trace Antique Barrel, and Clase Azul Tequilas/Mezcals.

Additionally, Tequila Barrel will be available for private events and will offer “tequila tasting activations” to Sky River Rewards Members and casino guests.

The Tequila Barrel will be open daily from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday will follow the same hours as Monday through Thursday.
