(FOX40.COM) — A formerly convicted felon was arrested on Tuesday evening in Sacramento County after deputies found him with guns, meth, cocaine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, and about $30,000 in cash.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said the drugs were discovered when its deputies conducted a traffic stop in the southern portion of Sacramento County on a Toyota Camry.

After attempting to pull the vehicle over, deputies said they were led on a pursuit and followed the vehicle with the help of the agency’s helicopter. The pursuit ended when the man crashed into the back of an uninvolved civilian’s vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but deputies were able to detain him quickly.

“A search of his vehicle revealed nearly 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, a quarter pound of cocaine, and nearly a half-pound of fentanyl and hydrocodone pills, along with about $30,000 in cash,” deputies said.

The agency provided context for the amount of drugs found during their search, saying that a 2mg dose of fentanyl is enough to kill an adult.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the man, later identified as Gabriel Quintero was a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.

“He was previously arrested in a 2012 South Sacramento gang shooting, where a 3-year-old was murdered. Due to a 10-2 hung jury, Quintero was released from custody and the case was never retried,” the sheriff’s office said.

Quintero is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday and is currently in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail after being deemed ineligible for bail.
