FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A 24-year-old Sacramento man was arrested after an explosion in Merced, according to the Merced Police Department.

Police say on August 11, around 1:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of an explosion in the 700 block of Sunol Court. Officers say they could not locate the explosion’s source at the time, but investigators were able to find video of the incident and locate the initial explosion.

Using the video, officers say they were able to locate a home where the person had fled following the blast. The Merced Police Bomb Team made contact at the home and was able to obtain evidence and information on the suspect who detonated the explosive device.

Police say they identified 24-year-old Jadin Tindle, from Sacramento, as the suspect.

On August 16, Merced Police officers with the assistance of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office served a search and arrest warrant on Tindle’s home in Sacramento. Tindle was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail.

Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to contact Officer Crain at 209-388-7754 or Crainl@cityofmerced.org .
