(FOX40.COM) — Searchers from the Placer County Search and Rescue Team are being thanked for locating a woman who had gone missing in a remote area of Tuolumne County.

On Aug. 13, Beth Watson, 64, and her German shepherd Merle went missing in the area of Lyon’s Dam after going for a morning walk.

The search drew in 80 personnel from 15 agencies across the state to assist in the search, including Jess Baker and K9 Lance from the Placer County Search and Rescue Team.

It was on Thursday afternoon that searchers made a significant discovery when at 4:40 p.m. Merle was found in the search area.

At 5:26 p.m., Watson was located by Baker and K9 Lance safe and sound in the search area.

Watson was safely evacuated out of the area by rescuers and was transported to an area hospital for continued medical care.

“Search and rescue operations take a team to execute, we are thankful for the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue members who are dedicated to helping in these types of situations,” the Placer County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
