(FOX40.COM) — The Roseville Fire Department had a busy start to their Monday evening as they tackled two house fires on opposite ends of the city, according to fire officials.

Crews were first dispatched at 6:34 p.m. to the Cresthaven neighborhood in southern Roseville. Firefighters located a single-story home that was burning from the rear of the structure.

With the assistance of four fire engines, two trucks and the guidance of two battalion chiefs, firefighters were able to knock down the flames and keep them from spreading to nearby structures.

Just as crews began wrapping up their work in the southern part of the city, a second house fire was reported in the northwest area of Blue Oaks.

Some fire crews on the Cresthaven fire packed up and headed to the new fire as other Roseville Fire Department stations mobilized to head for the new fire.

Firefighters found an active garage fire and were able to contain the fire inside of the garage and keep it from spreading far beyond its point of origin.

The Rocklin Fire Department, South Placer Fire District and CAL FIRE Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit provided mutual aid.
