    Fire personnel address chemical spill near water treatment facility in Placer County

    (FOX40.COM) — Firefighters and hazardous materials personnel responded to a Placer County water treatment facility on Monday after a chemical spill, according to the Placer Hills Fire Protection District.

    Fire crews responded to the facility in the Weimar area around 3:21 p.m. where they located an employee who had minor injuries and respiratory illness, according to the fire protection district.

    The Roseville Fire Department was called to assist with their Haz-Mat team along with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

    The fire protection district told FOX40.com on Tuesday that the spill was mitigated by 8:22 p.m. and no chemicals entered the water supply.

    Fire personnel said no crime was committed, the spill was an accidental operator error and there is no danger to the community.
