(FOX40.COM) — A probation search conducted by Northern California police recently led to the discovery of $80,000 in stolen merchandise, about $30,000 in cash, and various narcotics.

The Stockton Police Department said its officers and various agencies, including the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol, completed the search around Bear Creek Way in the northern portion of Stockton.

As a result, a 51-year-old and a 56-year-old were arrested and booked into county jail on charges related to organized retail crime.

Police operation leads to recovery of over 30 guns and 6 pounds of marijuana

“This successful investigation unequivocally demonstrates the unwavering dedication and commitment of the Task Force to safeguarding businesses and consumers from the repercussions of retail crime,” Stockton police said. “It underscores the ongoing collaboration and partnership with our law enforcement partners.”

Police said the stolen merchandise will be returned to the businesses and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
