(FOX40.COM) — An 11-year-old girl is dead after a vehicle she was in crashed into a tree, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Around 7:45 a.m., SPD responded to the 5800 block of North El Dorado Street for a report of a car crash. When officers arrived, they found an 11-year-old girl. They also found four teen girls, ages 13,14, 14, and 15; and a teen boy, age 13.

Police said the 11-year-old girl died from her injuries at the hospital. She was identified by family and friends as Queen Norwood. The five other teens were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to SPD.

Stockton police did not reveal who was driving the car or who the vehicle belonged to. The cause of the crash is unknown, but police said factors such as speed, alcohol, and drugs are under investigation. They added that in the state of California a person needs to be at least 15 and a half years old to have a learner’s driving permit.
