(KTXL) – The Folsom Bulldogs had an impressive win on Friday night, blowing out Long Beach Poly in their season opener, 63-20.

That win moved them up in the national rankings on Monday.

Folsom, which was No. 25 in the preseason in MaxPreps’ Top 25 high school football rankings, is now No. 23.

Long Beach Poly is a southern California powerhouse. The school has sent 60 players to the NFL!

On Friday night, though, it was no match for the Bulldogs and quarterback Ryder Lyons. Despite an injury to his non-throwing hand, Lyons accounted for three total touchdowns in the 43-point win.

Folsom (1-0) will host Serra (San Mateo) on Friday night.
