    Suspect arrested in connection with multi-county fire in 2022

    (FOX40.COM) — One person was arrested Thursday in connection with starting a wildfire in Amador County in 2022, CAL FIRE said.

    CAL FIRE said officers arrested a 39-year-old Yuba City man on suspicion of starting the Electra Fire on July 4, 2022.

    According to CAL FIRE, the fire started near Highway 49 and Electra Road, southeast of Jackson.

    The fire spread to Calaveras County and burned approximately 4,470 acres before being fully contained 25 days after it ignited.

    CAL FIRE reports show one firefighter was injured fighting the wildfire.
