    Sacramento to celebrate historic 1969 Little League champions

    (FOX40.COM) — The city of Sacramento is set to celebrate a historic Little League championship team.

    The 1969 Airport Little League team will be honored 55 years after winning the Senior Little League World Series. The team will be celebrated at an event on Sept. 7 at Airport Little League Park, which is near the Sacramento Executive Airport.

    100th California State Fair Amateur Championship decided on third playoff hole

    Surviving members of the team is set to attend the event, who will get honored with commemorative plaques.

    “This event is more than just a celebration of a game; it’s a celebration of community spirit, determination, and the lasting impact of youth sports,” Sacramento Vice Mayor Caity Maple said in a press release. “We invite everyone who was a part of this historic moment — whether as a player, a family member, or a fan — to join us in honoring this incredible achievement.”
