Woman on scooter fatally struck by vehicle in Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — A vehicle fatally struck a woman on a scooter in Sacramento Wednesday evening.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the collision happened around 6:15 p.m. near Franklin Boulevard and Cosumnes River Boulevard.

The woman, an 18-year-old Sacramento resident, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
