CHP finds woman fatally shot in vehicle on US-50

(FOX40.COM) — A woman was found with a fatal gunshot inside her vehicle on the side of US-50, according to the California Highway Patrol Placerville Area.

Around 6:30 a.m., CHP responded to a call of a disabled vehicle on US-50 eastbound, east of Snows Road in the community of Camino. The area is near Apple Hill. There, officers found a Chevrolet truck on the right shoulder of the highway with a woman inside who suffered from a fatal gunshot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP officers arrested a 38-year-old man from Sacramento in connection with the homicide. They said the incident is still under investigation and advised anyone with information to call the Placerville CHP office at 530-748-2450.
