    FOX40 adds early-morning newscast, shifts Studio40 Live and midday newscast

    KTXL FOX40 is thrilled to announce changes to its early-morning and midday news, as well as to its lifestyle show, Studio40 Live , starting on September 9.

    FOX40 News will begin broadcasting live news even earlier, starting at 4 a.m. The 11 a.m. newscast will also change to a 30-minute format, ending at 11:30 a.m.

    The changes will allow for six continuous hours of newscasts starting at 4 a.m., delivering news, weather and community reporting from across the 14-county region anchored by Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto.

    Studio40 Live , which offers Northern California-based lifestyle programming, is shifting to 10 a.m. and will continue its hour-long duration.

    FOX40 News will be anchored in the morning by Richard Sharp and Melanie Townsend, with additional reporting and contributions from the wider FOX40 News team . Studio40 Live will be hosted by Gary Gelfand and Scott Moak.

    “We’re excited to start informing our Northern California communities even earlier in the morning so that viewers can be better prepared as they start their day,” said KTXL FOX40 General Manager Cathy Gunther. “We’re committed to bringing Local News That Matters to viewers across our morning, midday, evening and night newscasts.”

    “An earlier start for Studio40 Live provides uninterrupted local news and programming for the diverse communities that we serve.”

    The midday newscast will be followed by True Crime News at 11:30 a.m. FOX40 News also broadcasts four hours of local news during the week from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and another 1 ½ hrs from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Weekend newscasts air after your favorite sports games and at 10 p.m.
