(KTXL) – Cam Skattebo ran all over the field for Arizona State on Saturday night, amassing 262 rushing yards to help the Sun Devils beat Mississippi State, 30-23 in Tempe, Arizona.

For his performance, Skattebo, a running back from Rio Linda and a former standout at Sacramento State, was named the Associated Press National Player of the Week on Monday.

He was also named the Big 12’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Cam Skattebo, who had the second-most rushing yards in a game in Sun Devil history, also had 35 receiving yards for ASU, for a total of 297 all-purpose yards. That is the most all-purpose yards in a single game for the team since Rocklin’s Brandon Aiyuk had 292 all-purpose yards against Oregon State in 2019.

Cam Skattebo is a 2020 graduate of Rio Linda High School, where he rushed for 6,192 yards with 69 touchdowns. He went on to play two seasons at Sacramento State, where he was the Big Sky’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.

He transferred to Arizona State ahead of the 2023 season.
