The end of baseball season is near, which means the start of the Athletics’ tenure in West Sacramento is right around the corner.

However, many people aren’t happy about the move, including one prominent agent who says players have voiced concerns about the upgrades scheduled for Sutter Health Park.

Players agent Scott Boras, who represents players including Giants’ Matt Chapman and Blake Snell, stated some concerns to multiple media outlets .

One of the concerns is the heat in Sacramento, with July of this year having several heat waves, and players playing outside on artificial grass.

Of the five stadiums in the league that currently have artificial grass, none of them are outdoors.

FOX40 reached out to the Athletics and Major League Baseball for comment to reaffirm the team’s planned move.

“It is a certainty that the A’s will play their 2025 season in Sacramento as planned. MLB is continuing to work productively with the (Major League Baseball Players Association) on the details of the transition,” the statement read.

FOX40 reached out to the Players Association as well, but they did not provide a comment.

Currently, the league and Sutter Health Park are working together to make sure the field fits both the players and the league’s standards so that it is safe for the players to play on.

The A’s tenure in West Sacramento is planned to be through at least the 2027 season, with an option for an additional year, before the team’s planned move to Las Vegas.
