(FOX40.COM) — Officers with the Davis Police Department uncovered a significant arsenal of illegal firearms and stockpiled ammunition after conducting extra patrols in downtown Davis, according to police.

While sweeping a parking garage at 101 F Street on Aug. 8, officers located three people drinking alcohol in a vandalized area of the garage.

After speaking with the three people, officers arrested Chelsea Franklin, 28, of Dixon for possession of fentanyl for sale and possession of a loaded firearm, which she is prohibited from having.

On Sept. 10, detectives served a search warrant on a building in Suisun City that investigators determined Franklin had gotten her gun.

Detectives found 73 illegally owned pistols, rifles and shotguns along with more than 25,000 rounds of ammunition.

Suisun City resident Justin Sharp was arrested on charges related to the discovery of firearms, ammunition and narcotics. Sharp was booked into the Solano County Jail.

Illegally owned firearms translate to convicted felons possessing firearms. But I am sure, if a law abiding civilian has some of those firearms, he or she would be reclassified as felons.
