    Sacramento police involved in shooting amid suspended vehicle registration investigation

    (FOX40.COM) — An investigation into a suspended vehicle registration led to a shooting that involved the Sacramento Police Department and a person being sent to the hospital.

    Around 4:31 Saturday, SPD observed a “suspicious vehicle with suspended registration” near Beloit Drive and Bell Avenue. SPD said a man believed to be associated with the vehicle “abandoned the car” before officers contacted him.

    According to SPD, the man was found hiding on a nearby RV roof. No officers were injured, however, one person was transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition. Police said the man was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

    The incident is currently under investigation by the Sacramento Police Department.
