Firefighters located a deceased man and a woman with significant burn injuries.

After removing the woman from the home, she was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center where she was stabilized and then transported to the UC Davis Medical Center burn unit for further medical care.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and fire crews say that it appears that the home lacked working smoke detectors.
