    Man arrested for allegedly intentionally starting Crozier Fire in El Dorado County

    (FOX40.COM) — A man was arrested Monday in connection with the ignition of the Crozier Fire in August, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said.

    The sheriff’s office said it arrested a 48-year-old Placerville man after an investigation determined that the fire was intentionally set.

    According to Cal Fire, the Crozier Fire started on August 6 northwest of Slate Mountain in El Dorado County.

    The fire burned roughly 1,938 acres before crews reached 100% containment about two weeks later.

    According to the sheriff’s officer, CAL FIRE Law Enforcement has arrested 91 people on arson-related charges since the start of the year.
