The agency said a motorcycle officer who has been with the agency for 20 years “sustained a complaint of pain” and was taken to a hospital.

The officer was reportedly at the Nevada St. exit of I-80 when they crashed with a truck. The driver of the truck checked on the officer and used their radio to call for help, CHP Captain Andrew McCulloch said to FOX40.com.

“It’s just amazing that someone who stops and has that immediate intuition to want to help…we’re grateful that she did that,” McCulloch said.

The driver stayed at the site of the crash and helped responding law enforcement. The CHP said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

The I-80 westbound offramp at Nevada St. was closed for a while, and surrounding roadways were closed for about five hours.
