    ‘It was a special moment’: Silver medalist recounts setting Olympic record

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) – In early August, Sagen Maddalena won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics. On Tuesday, Maddalena and her medal were in Sacramento, specifically at FOX40.

    Maddalena, who is from Groveland, about 120 miles southeast of Sacramento, spoke with Andrew Marden about her accomplishment on the world’s biggest stage.

    Sagen Maddalena is a sergeant in the U.S. Army’s Marksmanship Unit, and she finished in second place at the Paris games in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions.

    It was her second time competing in the Olympics, having also gone to Tokyo in 2021.
