    Wind, dry weather force power shutoffs in Northern California

    (FOX40.COM) — Communities in Butte and Colusa counties will experience Public Safety Power Shutoffs along with several other California counties starting Monday due to fire weather concerns, according to Pacific Gas and Electric.

    The utility company said that a forecast of high winds and dry conditions in parts of more than a dozen counties has led to its decision to initiate PSPS events.

    Other counties under the current PSPS event:
    • Alameda
    • Contra Costa
    • Glenn
    • Humboldt
    • Napa
    • Shasta
    • Sonoma
    • Tehama
    • Trinity

    According to the PG&E outage map , areas east of Paradise and Magalia in Butte County are experiencing shutoffs, along with areas east of Shasta Lake in Shasta County.

    The National Weather Service forecasts that hot weather will peak on Tuesday and Wednesday, and continue throughout the week.
