(FOX40.COM) — Body camera footage of a September police shooting in Sacramento has been released by the Sacramento Police Department.

The Sept. 14 shooting by a police officer resulted in the hospitalization of a man.

Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in crash in San Joaquin County

He was later booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of resisting arrest as well as a felony no-bail warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The video begins with officers arriving at a business center near Beloit Drive and Bell Avenue around 4:30 p.m. searching for a man who exited a blue Ford Explorer.

Officers confirmed that the registration of the vehicle had expired and was suspended.

The officers then spoke with people living in the area to see if they had any information on the man’s location. No one in the area reported having seen the man after he left his vehicle.

About four minutes after arriving at the scene, officers located the man hiding on the roof of one of the RV’s that officers had previously searched.

One of the officers climbed onto the front of a nearby semi-truck, found the man lying face down on the roof of the trailer and pointed his firearm at the man.

“Alright brother man, you’re at gunpoint, I need you to come down,” the officer can be heard saying on the video.

Both officers demanded that the man get down from the RV. After standing on the RV, the man ran and jumped from the roof.

The two officers chased the man and tackled him as he landed on the ground. While wrestling to place the man in custody one of the officers fired their weapon, grazing the man in the head.

After receiving medical care from officers, the man was transported to an area hospital where he was later discharged and taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail.
