In 2027, March Madness returns to Sacramento, making it the collegiate tournament’s third visit to the Capital City in a decade.

The NCAA announced on Wednesday that the Golden 1 Center will host the first and second rounds of the Men’s Division I College Basketball Championship in March 2027.

The announcement not only means that world-class collegiate talent will play in Sacramento, but that the city is likely to see thousands of visiting fans swell the city’s economy.

According to Golden 1 Center officials, the March Madness 2023 visits generated over $9.4 million for the Sacramento economy and more than 11,000 hotel room nights.
