(FOX40.COM) — A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly forcing another man to lie on train tracks, the Marysville Police Department said.

According to police, officers responded near the intersection of J Street and 11th Street around 9:30 a.m. to an open 9-1-1 call during which a man could be heard saying “lay right there.”

Police said the officers were approached by the suspect when they arrived and spoke with him.

During the conversation, the officers heard the victim call out for help.

The victim told police that the suspect forced him at knifepoint to lie on the tracks “with the intent of a train running over him.”

Police said the suspect later confessed to a detective and was booked into Yuba County Jail.

The suspect is facing charges of brandishing a weapon, kidnapping, false imprisonment and attempted murder.
