(FOX40.COM) — The California Highway Patrol Central Division found $500,000 worth of fentanyl hidden inside meat packages, the agency announced on Friday.

Police said the discovery happened during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Fresno County. Photos from the incident show several meat packages, possibly beef, wrapped in plastic. Buried inside of the meat were green containers that contained 11 pounds of fentanyl.
