(FOX40.COM) — Nearly one year after a woman died from a fentanyl overdose, the man who allegedly sold it to her was arrested.

On Oct. 9, the Sacramento Police Department arrested Kyle Firebaugh, 31, for alleged homicide and felony narcotic sales. The victim, Bianca Bewley, 32, was discovered dead in her home in the 5900 block of 34th Avenue on Dec.10, 2023, according to SPD.

Police said Firebaugh had been in communication with the victim about fentanyl in the days leading up to her death. They also said he admitted to supplying narcotics and was found to have purchased a “substantial amount of fentanyl” just hours before Bewley’s death.

“This case underscores the deadly threat fentanyl poses in our community,” said Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester. “Our detectives, alongside the Sacramento County DA’s Office, have worked tirelessly to hold those responsible accountable. Fentanyl is not just a drug—it’s a dangerous and lethal substance, and this arrest reflects our continued commitment to fighting its presence on our streets.”

The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call Sacramento police at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
