1 killed, 1 injured in separate Ceres shootings

(FOX40.COM) — Two separate shootings in Ceres resulted in the death of a man on Tuesday, according to the Ceres Police Department.

Just after midnight, officers received reports of a man who was unresponsive near a canal by the 1600 block of Mitchell Road.

A 39-year-old man was found by police and appeared to have been shot at least once. First responders performed live-saving measures but the man died at the scene.

Minutes later, a second shooting took place about a mile away at the intersection of Hatch Raod and Faith Home Road that left a 53-year-old man with minor injuries.

Investigators are looking into what led to the shooting of the two transient men and are asking anyone with information to call Detective Berlier at 209-538-5616.

really sad I had the police scanner on and I can hear everything going on I heard gun shots to. I was in my back yard near Mitchell road so sad that poor guy. I hope and pray they catch the person that did this evil murder 😞
