(FOX40.COM) — Wednesday’s showers saturated parts of the Greater Sacramento Area just enough for more than 1,100 PG&E customers to be removed from the list of planned power shutoffs.

Due to increased fire risk from high winds and low relative humidity, PG&E announced PSPS events across Northern California starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday.

“A substantial wetting rainfall hit the Northern and Central Sierras Wednesday morning, providing a welcome boost to dead fuel moisture values and relative humidity in these areas,” PG&E said in a news release.

Placer County and El Dorado County have announced that thousands of planned customer shutoffs have been canceled because of Wednesday’s rainfall.
