    Indiana has 2 of the top locations where Gen Z has been buying homes

    INDIANA (WANE) — Ever wonder where Generation Z is considering buying their homes? Well, multiple Indiana cities are taking some of the top spots.

    In a study by Homebuyer.com , researchers explore some of the top spots where Gen Z is buying houses, and some of the generation’s buying habits.

    The research uses data from the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) to find where Gen Z’s 4.85% of home buying is making bigger strides.

    The top home-buying town for ages 18-24 is Ligonier, where home buyers born after 1999 make up 42% of home buyers in the zip code. The average household income for the area is $90,273 with the area’s median household income being $74,500, which is higher than Indiana’s average household income of $67,173 .
