NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Big things are coming for the City of Noblesville in the next few years. It’s all part of new innovative developments on the city’s east side.

One of the biggest developments in the works right now is the new Noblesville Event Center. The new facility has been in the works for the last couple of years and will go along what’s called the Innovation Mile.

“Innovation Mile is a really exciting project for the city of Noblesville,” said Deputy Mayor Matt Light. “We have been working with a lot of project partners to develop a master plan for the southeast side of the city near exit 210 and Hamilton Town Center to be a hub for innovative businesses, a sports and entertainment district, and to enhance the quality of life within Noblesville.

Innovation Mile will be near I-69, the Hamilton Town Center and Ruoff Music Center, putting it in what city leaders are calling a very strategic location to hopefully attract new businesses.

“We have seen more and more interest from businesses, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing, and some of the targeted industries reach out to us and express interest in joining in the expansion of that district,” Light said.

Right now, the spotlight is on the Noblesville Event Center which will be home to the Pacers’ G League team starting in the 2025-2026 season.

“I want to go to one of the basketball games,” said Kristin Korbacher who works in Noblesville. “I am excited for that. It will be cool!”

“Pacers Sports and Entertainment is a top-notch organization and they have been wonderful to work with, all of the project partners have, but to be able to partner with an NBA franchise that has such a broad reach and does things with excellence has been a rewarding thing for us but also I think opens up opportunities to do a lot of other things,” Light said.

And for those who live and work in Noblesville, these new developments are a big deal.

“It’s exciting,” Korbacher said. “It just gives more to do in this area. You don’t have to go all the way downtown to go and see a sporting event. You’ll be able to come locally here and help the small businesses that are around here as well.”

The 120,000-square-foot event center will also be home to conferences, trade shows, and other community events. Right alongside this new space will be a variety of new businesses to support too.

“It means a lot of revenue coming in which will actually help with jobs and everything else, so that will be exciting for the residents of Noblesville,” said Barbara Tracht who calls Noblesville home.

As the Innovation Mile expands, the city of Noblesville is expected to follow suit over the next few years.

“I think it’s really cool how [the city] is growing but they are keeping the small town feel with it,” Korbacher said.

“The world is going to get a chance to see a little hometown getting quite large,” Tracht said. “I think Reno, Nevada used to have that sign that said ‘biggest littlest city in the world’ and I think Noblesville may take that over, who knows?”

The Noblesville Event Center is expected to be open in summer 2025 and more businesses will be announced along Innovation Mile soon.

Innovation Mile will also be home to the Indiana Joint Replacement Institute which is expected to open next year. It will be across the street from the event center.
