    79 workers to be laid off from manufacturing company in Richmond

    RICHMOND, Ind. — Dozens of workers will be laid off from their job at a manufacturing company in Richmond.

    The company, TBK America Inc., has notified the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that the first round of layoffs will occur on Sept. 30, and 70 people will be let go from their Region 6.

    According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, the second round of layoffs will occur on Nov. 30, and nine people will be let go.

    The notice said that a total of 86 workers will be impacted by the closure.

    TBK America, which specializes in engine parts manufacturing, said the following workers will be impacted:

    • Assemblers and Fabricators, All Other
    • Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks
    • Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technicians
    • First-Line Supervisors of Helpers, Laborers, and Material Movers, Hand
    • Human Resources Managers
    • Industrial Production Managers
    • Maintenance Workers, Machinery
    • Payroll and Timekeeping Clerks
    • Sales Managers
    • Secretaries and Administrative Assistants
