    Muncie Police Department investigating shooting that left man dead

    MUNCIE, Ind. — The Muncie Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man dead Saturday afternoon.

    According to a press release, Delaware County 911 dispatchers received a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of South Blaine Street around 3:32 p.m. MPD officers were subsequently sent to the scene.

    When police made it to the area, they found a 29-year-old male who had been shot. The man was transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital before he ultimately died from his injuries.

    On Monday, the person who was shot was identified by the Muncie Police Department as Jamal Wallace.

    MPD is still investigating the incident. Police urge those with information on the shooting to contact the Muncie Police Department Detective Division at (765) 747-4867 or Muncie Police Dispatch at (765) 747-4838.
