1 flown to hospital after crash in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. — An individual has been seriously hurt after a crash in Shelby County.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a crash on SR244 at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday on a report of a serious injury crash.

According to the SCSD, the crash involved a dump truck that was eastbound on 244 and a passenger car that was westbound on 244. The dump truck reportedly dropped off the edge of the south side of the road, over corrected, then came back onto to road and struck the passenger car head-on.

The driver of the passenger car was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the dump truck was taken to an area also by ambulance.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.
