KOKOMO, Ind. — A woman is under arrest after allegedly being caught at a National Guard Armory setting fires.

According to the Kokomo Police Department, police and fire crews were called out to the armory on Markland Avenue on Sunday, at approximately 11:16 p.m. After firefighters extinguished several small fires believed to be intentionally set, police reported finding a woman hiding inside a vehicle parked in a secured area.

The woman, identified as 47-year-old Kimberley Austin, was arrested. She allegedly admitted to starting the fires and calling 911 to report them.

Police said no one was injured as a result of the fires.

Austin faces potential charges of burglary and arson. The Howard County Prosecutor’s Office will determine her final charges.
