Anderson man accused of molesting children

ANDERSON, Ind. — An Anderson man faces decades in prison after being accused of molesting two children.

Timothy Davenport Jr. 45, is charged with multiple counts of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor. His most serious charge is a Level 1 felony, which carries a possible prison sentence of 50 years.

According to court documents, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department first was told about the allegations against Davenport in June after the victims’ mother notified police officers at Community Hospital about the accused molestations.

According to the victims, Davenport preyed upon them for years and used them for sexual gratification. Davenport attempted to keep his crimes from the children’s mother, stopping them from reporting his crimes.

Police said footage from cameras kept in Davenport’s home was gathered by detectives. While Davenport reportedly avoided the rooms with the cameras, police documented the behavior of Davenport and his victims entering and leaving certain rooms where the victims alleged the crimes occurred. Police said some of the behavior exhibited by Davenport in the footage aligned with the victims’ allegations.

Court documents reveal that investigators tried to set up an interview with Davenport but the 45-year-old never showed up to meet with police officers. He was eventually arrested on a warrant in mid-August but posted a $10,000 bond and was released from jail.
