Bartholomew Co.: Juvenile arrested after stabbing person inside Hope home

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — A juvenile was arrested in relation to a stabbing that occurred on Tuesday evening in Hope.

According to a news release from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 100 block of Schaefer Ct. South in Hope after a reported stabbing.

The victim, identified by the office as a 42-year-old man from Hope, had reportedly been stabbed multiple times during a domestic disturbance. Officials said in the release that a “minor physical confrontation” between the victim and another person inside the home occurred.

During the confrontation, another person, identified by deputies as the juvenile, reportedly stabbed the victim in the back several times. The release said that the victim was transported to an Indianapolis hospital.

The juvenile was charged with battery causing serious bodily injury and was transported to the Bartholomew County Youth Services Center. The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
