    Woman shot, killed on Indy’s northwest side

    INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a woman was killed in a shooting on Indy’s northwest side Friday night.

    Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 6:55 p.m. to the 3000 block of Lupine Drive in response to reports of shots being fired in the area.

    IMPD said officers arrived and found a woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition where she later died as a result of her injuries.

    As of this article’s publication, IMPD has not provided any suspect information as they work to determine the circumstances that led up to the incident.

    IMPD added that detectives will remain on scene where they will continue to collect evidence and speak with potential witnesses.
