INDIANAPOLIS — Police with Indiana University are investigating after a suspect opened fire at another individual during a road rage incident near the IU Indianapolis campus in downtown Indy.

IUPD said officers were called Friday night to the 1300 block of W. Michigan Street to investigate reports of a possible road rage shooting.

Preliminary information indicates the suspect, believed to be driving a small black sedan with a broken taillight, fired multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle before fleeing eastbound toward 10th Street, IUPD said.

No injuries were reported, IUPD confirmed. IUPD added that the isolated incident poses no ongoing threat to the campus. The victim is not affiliated with Indiana University.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact IUPD at 317-274-7911.
