1 in critical condition after shooting at house party on Indy’s north side

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metro Police Department is investigating after a male was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning.

According to IMPD, around 12:15 a.m., officers responded to the 4000 block of Carrollton Avenue on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they located a male with a gunshot wound in the front yard of a house. The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police said the shooting took place during a house party at a short-term rental. Law enforcement is still working to determine what led to the shooting.

IMPD reported that it has not yet identified any suspects at this point in its investigation of the shooting. Police indicated that several people remained on the scene after the shooting unfolded and cooperated with investigators.
