Suspect arrested in reported stabbing on east side

INDIANAPOLIS – Police arrested a suspect after finding an injured man in the back of a vehicle on the east side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police were dispatched around 1:40 a.m. to the 1100 block of Drexel Avenue for a reported stabbing.

They found an adult male in the rear of a vehicle suffering from injuries. Police believe the incident happened outside a nearby residence.

Officers located the suspect, an adult male, and arrested him on a preliminary charge of battery with a deadly weapon.

Police didn’t disclose the circumstances surrounding the incident. The case remains under investigation.
