    1 injured after house fire in Knightstown

    KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. — One person was injured after a house fire in Knightstown on Sunday evening.

    According to a news release from the Knightstown Fire Department, firefighters responded to a home on N Jefferson St. at around 6:20 p.m. on Sunday after they received reports of a fire.

    When firefighters arrived, they found that the front of the home was “well involved with fire and heavy smoke conditions.” The release said that firefighters with KFD Engine 21 entered the home to help extinguish the fire, which was marked under control at 6:33 p.m. on Sunday.

    Officials reported that one person was injured as a result of the fire. No firefighter injuries occurred. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the release.
