    Indianapolis Jazz Foundation to host 2024 Indy Jazz Fest

    INDIANAPOLIS — Later this month, Indianapolis will be the center of the jazz world with the Indy Jazz Fest.

    David Allee, the Indy Jazz Fest director, came on the FOX59 Morning News on Tuesday to talk about the 2024 iteration of the festival, which kicks off on Sept. 17. Officials said the festival is the “premier event of the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation” and consists of a lineup of international stars, modern masters and Indy-based creators.

    According to the festival’s website, the official kick-off for the festival will be at The Jazz Kitchen on Sept. 21, featuring artists including:

    • Indiana All-State Jazz Combo
    • Freddie Hubbard Tribute
    • Vocalease
    • Bashiri Asad
    • The Blue Side
    • Pavel & Direct Contact
    • Sleepynap Afrobeat Experience

    Throughout the festival, a number of other jazz artists will perform throughout Indianapolis, including:

    • Kandace Springs
    • Lakecia Benjamin
    • Malcolm-Jamal Warner
    • Indianapolis Jazz Collective
    • MonoNeon

    The festival will culminate with a grand finale at the Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park on Sept. 28. Starting at 3 p.m., the finale will include artists, including:

    • Chaka Khan
    • Marcus Miller
    • Michael Franks
    • Steve Allee & the Magic Hour Band
