BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A Bloomington mother is accused of loading up her car with drugs and abandoning her child in a known drug den.

Chloe K. Sullivan, 26, is charged with a slew of drug dealing felonies including three Level 2 felony counts. She also faces Level 3 felony charges for drug possession and a Level 5 felony charge of neglect of a dependent.

According to court documents, Bloomington police were staking out Sullivan’s apartment on Aug. 27 as part of a narcotics investigation. Sullivan had been pegged as a possible dealer of narcotics and police had already been granted a warrant to search her home and vehicle.

While watching Sullivan, officers spotted her loading up her white Chevrolet Malibu with several items before driving off. Police pulled Sullivan over a short time later and searched her vehicle.

Inside the Malibu police found an assortment of drugs including cocaine, meth and M-30 pills (which are often counterfeit pills containing fentanyl).

During the investigation, police discovered that Sullivan abandoned her child inside the apartment prior to loading up her car with drugs and driving away. Sullivan reportedly told police she did this because the 4-year-old was “hard to wake up.”

Police said the mother’s abandonment of the child “placed the Minor Victim in a state of danger” due to the residence the child was left inside being “used to deal and possess cocaine and narcotic drugs.”

Sullivan was officially charged on Aug. 28 and appeared in court on Sept. 9.

If convicted, Sullivan could face up to 30 years on a single Level 2 felony.
