INDIANAPOLIS — A number of law enforcement agencies recently cracked down on illegal narcotics trafficking as well as illegal firearms by serving a number of search warrants in Indianapolis.
On Tuesday, investigators with the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, along with other law enforcement agencies conducted searches of various locations in Indianapolis, according to a post on IMPD’s social media account.
The goal of the searches, according to officials with IMPD, was to confiscate illegal firearms and narcotics from a criminal group linked to multiple violent crimes in Indianapolis, including homicides. IMPD did not provide specific information on the incidents that the group was specifically linked to.

Those who choose this path will face consequences, and we will use every resource available to hold you accountable and ensure justice is delivered.”
IMPD said during Tuesday’s operation, six individuals were arrested, and the following items were seized or confiscated:
- 22 firearms seized
- Seven pounds of marijuana confiscated
- 50 grams of fentanyl confiscated
- 10 grams of cocaine confiscated.
“This morning’s operation is the result of a combined effort by federal, state, and local agencies working together to make the streets of Indianapolis safer,” John Nokes, the assistant special agent in charge of the ATF’s Columbus field division, said in the release. “Our investigators have worked tirelessly to investigate the sources of violence and drugs in our city. We believe these individuals are responsible for significant violence and fentanyl trafficking in Central Indiana. Today’s enforcement operation is only one step in our plan to dismantle these organizations and bring their members to justice. ATF will continue to partner with IMPD and the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force to proactively track down, investigate and arrest those who chose violence as their way of life.”
