Police arrest student accused of making threat at Warren Township Schools

INDIANAPOLIS — Police have arrested a student for allegedly making online threats at an unspecified school within the Warren Township Metropolitan School District.

MSD of Warren Township confirmed in a statement shared with FOX59/CBS4 Tuesday night that one student has been taken into custody and arrested for allegedly posting an online threat aimed at the district.

This marks the latest example of a student being arrested for posting online threats.

Earlier this week, Marion police arrested two juveniles accused of making online threats at two schools within Marion Community Schools. Last week, Anderson police arrested a student who allegedly threatened to bring a gun to class.

Indiana State Police also arrested a Perry Meridian student for making alleged threats.

It has been confirmed by law enforcement that the student accessing and posting to the social media account has been identified. This student admitted to posting and has been arrested and taken into custody. Law enforcement’s review of the device used stated that it appears that there was only one individual posting to this account. At this point, there are no other suspected or confirmed threats.

I want to thank all students, parents, staff, and community members who continued to send helpful information. I truly believe that if we continue to follow the motto “if you see something,say something” we will be able to have positive results such as this. We will continue with our current safety protocols for morning entry and throughout the day.
